This is a piece from the historic early series of eyewear from the Continental Optical Company.
A simple round shape with all the decorations that enhance the charm of the gold-plated (12KGF) ring removed.
Comes with 14K solid gold nose pads.
Not only is it simple, but the extravagantly luxurious details incorporated into every corner are the result of the full-scale techniques used at the time when it was treated as jewelry.
The nose pad is also engraved with the date of manufacture, "November 30, 1920."
It's hard to believe it was 100 years ago.
This handmade piece is a work of art that could only be realized in this day and age, and its exquisite quality makes it a highly valuable piece not only to be used but also to be collected and used as a reference.

It is in excellent condition, having been stored for nearly 100 years in a warehouse belonging to a former ophthalmologist who went out of business 30 years ago.
The chrome surface in particular still retains its original luster.
