The item had been lying dormant in a warehouse in Studio City, LA, that ran a movie costume rental business until the 1980s.
This is an excellent dead stock item that appears to have been stored unused in a Stetson box, with all tags intact.
The felt tension remains the same as it was back then, and it has remained in its open crown state, so you can enjoy shaping it to your liking.
The lining has discolored overall over the course of more than 70 years, but still retains its original luster.
It is in perfect condition and will last a lifetime.
