from the previous gray horn-rimmed version.

At the time, identical models were manufactured by major American brands
such as AO and Bausch & Lomb according to strict US government specs
and produced as US Army issue.
This background explains why many units have a discrepancy
between the branding on the front and the temples.
This piece is a rare find with both the front and temples
manufactured by USS.
